All around the world many people are experiencing winter blues. Winter blues occurs during the winter months when the sun is not out for as long compared to the summer. Many people experience symptoms of sadness, depression, lack of motivation, plus much more. To turn your blue to yellow. Try these simple tips.
1. Take extra vitamin D. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin so be sure to speak with your doctor, naturopath, etc about how much is enough to take for your body.
2. Go outside when you can. Your skin produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight so get some rays whenever possible.
3. Eat a clean diet. A clean diet means avoid the soda, processed food, and sugar. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. An unhealthy diet can increase the moodiness during the winter blues.
4. Get your blood moving. Meaning get some exercise. Exercising increases blood flow. Studies state exercise can dramatically improve mood and depression symptoms. So take 30 minutes a day to improve your state of mind.
5. Listen to your favorite jams. There are several studies that conclude music therapy can improve your mood.
Our body’s has the amazing ability to heal itself when placed under the right environment. What does that really mean? When you break a bone the doctor re-aligns the bone then places a cast on it to allow it to heal. Your body could then naturally heal itself. When the bone is not set properly it heals but not in the correct position, which can cause other issues.
Imagine if the bones in your spine are in the wrong position. What this does is creates interference between your spine and brain, creating fog in the communication channels between the two. When this happens your brain has a difficult time healing the body. This can then be seen with sickness such as pain, digestive issues, reproductive issues, respiratory issues, and many more. Thus imagine a spine with no interference, a spine in alignment that can communicate freely with the brain. The nervous system the most important system in the body can then function at optimal level. An optimal functioning nervous system allows for the potential of an optimal functioning body.
Bed wetting or the scientific term enuresis is the process of which a child/adult urinates involuntary while sleeping after being fully potty training. Bed wetting may seem like a laughing matter as a kid when your little sister or brother did this, but for a child this can be a humiliating occurrence.
Once it is ruled out that a child knows how to use the bathroom, the next thing that should be addressed is, is the child aware that they have to urinated while asleep, or are they just being lazy, or do they truly have a misalignment that causes bed wetting. Once it has been established that the child may have a misalignment. I come up with a plan for the parents. This often includes a bedwetting diary for the child to keep track of their bed wetting with mom and dad. This plan allows parents and the child to see their own progress. With chiropractic adjustments and a few routine changes, children that wet their beds can then have sleep overs without being embarrassed. He or she can finally wake up dry. First, what is Hepatitis B. Hepatitis B is a virus that affects the liver. It is transmitted through bodily fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids) and can also be injected via infected needle. So why if your newborn baby who has already passed through the birth canal given the hepatitis B vaccine so early. Starts with an M and ends with a Y. You got it MONEY. I have never met a child who was having sex as a baby, shooting up needles, working at a medical office with syringes etc. Have you? I hate to say this but because most of the public goes along with whatever media tells them it is easy for parents to just say oh okay sure give my baby that vaccine.
The CDC and doctors know that you are still pretty goo goo ga ga over your child at two months so the easiest thing to do is tell you it is mandatory for you to get this vaccine. So every two months you come into the office to get your baby's shots.
The worse thing is that more and more pediatricians are denying care to parents who decline vaccinations. These parents do not just wake up one day and decide not to vaccinate. They spend hours among hours researching the pros and cons. And as my disclaimer says I am not telling you not to vaccinate I am simply saying do your homework. In most states you do have the option to decline vaccination(s) based on religious/philosophical beliefs or medical exemptions in order for your child to attend public school/daycare/college etc. This can easily be found online. No matter what you decide for your family do not let coercion by your doctor, friends, or family make your mind up for you. Do your research.
Did you know your nervous system controls everything in your body? It allows your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, your bones to move, etc. A unhealthy nervous system leads to many issues both musculoskeletal and visceral. When the nerves that go everywhere cannot communicate effectively with your brain due to misalignments the result is decrease state of health. This decrease state in health include many problems such as pain, visceral issues such as digestive issues, respiratory issues, reproductive issues, weight problems, the list continues.
So how do you keep your nervous system healthy. Chiropractors are trained to analyze the spine and extremities to find and remove these misalignments. Once this misalignment is removed the nervous system can function at its optimal state and allow the rest of the body to function at its best. What does that mean? That means less pain, improved digestive system, respiratory, reproductive system, and all other systems in the body. It is your call you either continue to live life with a subpar nervous system or get chiropractic care and improve your well being and ultimately your life.
Below you will find a chart that shows common signs of dysfunction due to the affected nerve supply. Take a look.
1. Get enough sleep.
Go to sleep 30 minutes before you usually do.
2. Drink a vegetable, fruit, shake every day.
I use spinach, carrots, and a small cup of fruit with water. If you do not like the taste change up the fruit, or add raw honey and lemon.
3. Get chiropractic care regularly.
Chiropractors perform a gentle adjustment that allows the body to heal itself through the nervous system. A healthy nervous system equals a healthier you.
4. Create Goals.
Each month write down the things you want to accomplish whether that is personal, business, or financial.
5. Lastly walk 20 minutes every day.
You do not have to be a gym rat to be healthy. Start a walking routine.
The top two leading causes of death in the U. S continues to be heart disease and cancer. Although heart disease and cancer does have some genetic causality most individuals can prevent these two conditions from occurring.
In 2014, cardiologist Dr. Malhotra completed a study in which proved that saturated fat and cholesterol is not the main cause of heart disease as once thought. His study concluded that the culprit is really sugar. This makes sense because when fat was reduced in foods the food industry adds sugar to these products so it can taste better. When this occurred the cardiovascular risks increased causing more people to get heart disease. To take the study even further it should be noted that since sugar causes inflammation in the body. This inflammation is one of the causes heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke, and obesity.
So what can you do to prevent many of these conditions? Reduce your sugar/sweetener intake!! Do not be fooled by food labels that say sugar-free. Many of these products use ingredients such as sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and aspartame. These artificial sweeteners can still cause cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other conditions. A popular sweetener is high fructose corn syrup which can be found in many things such as processed meats such as sausage, salad dressings, and other processed foods.
Thus before you pick out the item that says reduce fat or fat free check the label and make an informed decision.

I have met several people in the past that have either said chiropractic care did not work for them. At first look this puzzled me, however when you look deeper they are several factors that can play into this. One of which is not all chiropractors are the same just like not all Ob Gyn’s and lawyers, etc. It is almost impossible to please everyone you encounter. One thing that a patient can do to get the best possible outcome however is follow their care plan. This care plan may include nutritional advice, exercise advice, and most importantly a schedule for chiropractic care.
For instance when you go to your primary care physician for low back pain they may prescribe you a pain reliever. They then give you directions for that pain reliever such as take 200mg every 4 hours for 10 days then follow up. This pain reliever does not fix the problem just masks the symptoms.
Chiropractors thoroughly examine the patient then create a management plan for that individual to resolve their particular issue. The patient may need to get care twice a week for 4 weeks then once a week there after. This care plan is many times accompanied by specific stretches and possibly nutrition recommendations. So why do so many people quit during their care. Part of the reason seems to be many people are conditioned for quick results. When individuals take pain relievers instead of results they are getting a band-aid that tells their brain they do not feel the pain. While their actual problem continues to get worse underneath the bandaid.
So here is a scenario. Person A starts under chiropractic care after having low back pain for 5 years. Person A after two visits feel a little better. Then they have a bad episode the following week. They decide that maybe chiropractic care is not for them. They go back to taking pain pills that don’t solve the issue and in two years their issue gets worse so now they get back surgery. Their range of motion is limited forever now, with about half the pain from before.
Person B also has low back pain and decides to get care. They eventually understand that it took months or years for their spine and body to get out of alignment. He/she also understands that it will take time to get better. During their bad pain episodes they continue their care. During their 4 weeks of care their pain and range of motion continue to improve. They are able to enjoy a better quality of life even being able to lift up their child with no pain. They continue care once a week then twice a month for maintenance so their body can continue to function at its optimal state. Which person would you rather be?
Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system along with sleeping, memory, mood problems, headaches, jaw pain (TMJ), lower abdomen pain, and fatigue. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown however there are many natural treatments that may help manage the symptoms. Below are just a few.
1. Chiropractic care realigns the position of the bones, which in turn relieves pain, improves range of motion, and improves function. Thus chiropractic care can help with the aches and pains that a fibromyalgia sufferer experiences.
2. Nutrition is another major component to relieving fibromyalgia symptoms. Studies have shown that Vitamin D can help reduce the pain that fibromyalgia sufferers experience. Gluten can cause inflammation in the gut which in turn can cause digestive issues. A dys-functional gut can cause a cascade of other issues. The reason for this is your digestive system is your second immune system.
3. Low impact exercises such as yoga and pilates are great for fibromyalgia individuals. When you exercise you increase oxygen to the muscles and increase energy levels. This can help battle the fatigue symptoms that fibromyagia individuals experience.
