It's spring and many of us are having the cough attacks, sneezing, itchy runny nose and eyes. When all the male gametes want to do is find them as many special ladies to fertilize, we humans complain of our plight. All joking aside. This season definitely comes with the good and the bad for many of us. Below I have completed my top 5 natural allergy remedies in no particular order. Enjoy
1. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) I know it's not the most pleasant taste but I assure you it helps. Mix 1 tablespoon of organic raw ACV with a tablespoon of lemon, and a spoonful of honey with a cup of water at least three times per day during allergy season. Where can I get ACV? Most local supermarkets carry it. 2. Nettle Leaf Tea Nettle leaves have anti-inflammatory properties that helps treat allergy symptoms. If you have any medical condition consult with your physician before using Nettle because it is a powerful herb. Where can I get Nettle? I buy my nettle tea leaves here. This brand is 100% organic. 3. Use a Neti Pot Make a saline solution using distilled water (free of chlorine and flouride which can irritate your sinuses) and sea salt and add it to your pot. Use it in the morning and at night to remove the irritants in your nose. Where can I get a neti pot? This is the neti pot that I use. What is great about this brand is it comes with everything needed to cleanse your nasal passages. 4. Use Essential Oils Essential oils or a great way to clear up nasal passages and relieve congestion. A few of my favorites for allergies are peppermint oil, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. I like to put a few drops in a diffuser and spray down my home during allergy season. I've also add a few drops to coconut oil and rubbed it on my son's chest and feet when he's congested. Where can I get essential oils? Some essential oils are sold at many grocery stores but I recommend getting good quality essential oils from brands such as doTERRA and Young living. 5. Get Adjusted Chiropractic care will allow your nervous system to function optimally. And since your nervous system controls everything in your body, it will allow your immune system to function optimally as well. Where can I find a chiropractor? We are everywhere or almost at least. I am located at 320 Prospect Place, Alpharetta, GA 30005. A car accident is a traumatic event for your body. External forces transfers energy into your body which then creates injuries. The most common injury is whiplash injury. With whiplash injuries the neck is forced into hyperextension then hyperflexion. This motion can create ligament damage and muscle strain. Sprains/strains can take 6-8 weeks to heal with proper care. Other injuries include neck pain, back pain, headaches, radiating pain, shoulder pain and much more. After an auto accident it may take 24-72 hours for you to feel pain. It is important to seek care as soon as possible after an accident to prevent further injury. Sometimes you may not feel the pain from an accident right away. For some it could take days, weeks, even months before the effects of an accident surfaces. This is why it is important to seek care immediately after an accident. A chiropractor can assess all the injuries and treat them appropriately.
At Journey Family Chiropractic every auto accident may be different, but we treat each patient as family. Our goal is to get you out of pain and keep you out of pain. Then get you as close as possible to your pre-accident case. We have all been there when you are in excruciating pain. When all you want to do is curl up, take a pill, and make the pain stop. There is no question that pain relievers stop the sensation of pain. But do you know how this is done? Pain relievers shuts off your brain's ability to sense the pain, thus you don't feel the pain. Pain relievers however do not treat the cause of the pain. This is why you may need to take it every 4 hours.
Chiropractic care works much different than the pain pill model. With chiropractic care we look at what is causing the pain and we go straight to the source. The pain could be caused by a subluxation in the neck causing a headache or possibly the low back causing low back pain. Where ever the source of the pain is, our job is to find it and get rid of it. Because our bodies are habit forming people tend to subluxate in the same areas over and over. In order to prevent your body from constantly subluxating I assess my patients' activities and lifestyle to pinpoint what is exactly causing their pain. Once this is done I can make the appropriate recommendations for chiropractic care, exercises, and home care. Oh snap…I’m pregnant. How did that happen? Who knew a little person could grow inside of me. Attach itself like a parasite and feed off me for 9 months. Sounds like the plot of a horror movie to me. If you are like most women when you find out you are pregnant. You have some shock, fear, excitement, a combination of all of the above. You may even feel like pooping on yourself. Don’t do it, pooping on yourself is for labor not finding out you are pregnant. (More on that later.) Now let me put this out there. This may be a very entertaining, interactive book but it also has some valuable info. So enjoy it take it in the tub, on the toilet, in the bed, sleep with it, take it on a date, whatever you need to do to have the best pregnancy and birth possible. From time to time I will suggest some extra work on your part. Now I’m not asking for your left kidney just asking for you to get the most out of whatever you paid for this book.
All around the world many people are experiencing winter blues. Winter blues occurs during the winter months when the sun is not out for as long compared to the summer. Many people experience symptoms of sadness, depression, lack of motivation, plus much more. To turn your blue to yellow. Try these simple tips.
1. Take extra vitamin D. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin so be sure to speak with your doctor, naturopath, etc about how much is enough to take for your body. 2. Go outside when you can. Your skin produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight so get some rays whenever possible. 3. Eat a clean diet. A clean diet means avoid the soda, processed food, and sugar. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. An unhealthy diet can increase the moodiness during the winter blues. 4. Get your blood moving. Meaning get some exercise. Exercising increases blood flow. Studies state exercise can dramatically improve mood and depression symptoms. So take 30 minutes a day to improve your state of mind. 5. Listen to your favorite jams. There are several studies that conclude music therapy can improve your mood. Our body’s has the amazing ability to heal itself when placed under the right environment. What does that really mean? When you break a bone the doctor re-aligns the bone then places a cast on it to allow it to heal. Your body could then naturally heal itself. When the bone is not set properly it heals but not in the correct position, which can cause other issues.
Imagine if the bones in your spine are in the wrong position. What this does is creates interference between your spine and brain, creating fog in the communication channels between the two. When this happens your brain has a difficult time healing the body. This can then be seen with sickness such as pain, digestive issues, reproductive issues, respiratory issues, and many more. Thus imagine a spine with no interference, a spine in alignment that can communicate freely with the brain. The nervous system the most important system in the body can then function at optimal level. An optimal functioning nervous system allows for the potential of an optimal functioning body. Bed wetting or the scientific term enuresis is the process of which a child/adult urinates involuntary while sleeping after being fully potty training. Bed wetting may seem like a laughing matter as a kid when your little sister or brother did this, but for a child this can be a humiliating occurrence.
Once it is ruled out that a child knows how to use the bathroom, the next thing that should be addressed is, is the child aware that they have to urinated while asleep, or are they just being lazy, or do they truly have a misalignment that causes bed wetting. Once it has been established that the child may have a misalignment. I come up with a plan for the parents. This often includes a bedwetting diary for the child to keep track of their bed wetting with mom and dad. This plan allows parents and the child to see their own progress. With chiropractic adjustments and a few routine changes, children that wet their beds can then have sleep overs without being embarrassed. He or she can finally wake up dry. To learn more about how chiropractic care can help with bed wetting check out the articles below. http://icpa4kids.org/Chiropractic-Research/Bed-Wetting/ First, what is Hepatitis B. Hepatitis B is a virus that affects the liver. It is transmitted through bodily fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids) and can also be injected via infected needle. So why if your newborn baby who has already passed through the birth canal given the hepatitis B vaccine so early. Starts with an M and ends with a Y. You got it MONEY. I have never met a child who was having sex as a baby, shooting up needles, working at a medical office with syringes etc. Have you? I hate to say this but because most of the public goes along with whatever media tells them it is easy for parents to just say oh okay sure give my baby that vaccine.
The CDC and doctors know that you are still pretty goo goo ga ga over your child at two months so the easiest thing to do is tell you it is mandatory for you to get this vaccine. So every two months you come into the office to get your baby's shots. The worse thing is that more and more pediatricians are denying care to parents who decline vaccinations. These parents do not just wake up one day and decide not to vaccinate. They spend hours among hours researching the pros and cons. And as my disclaimer says I am not telling you not to vaccinate I am simply saying do your homework. In most states you do have the option to decline vaccination(s) based on religious/philosophical beliefs or medical exemptions in order for your child to attend public school/daycare/college etc. This can easily be found online. No matter what you decide for your family do not let coercion by your doctor, friends, or family make your mind up for you. Do your research. Did you know your nervous system controls everything in your body? It allows your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, your bones to move, etc. A unhealthy nervous system leads to many issues both musculoskeletal and visceral. When the nerves that go everywhere cannot communicate effectively with your brain due to misalignments the result is decrease state of health. This decrease state in health include many problems such as pain, visceral issues such as digestive issues, respiratory issues, reproductive issues, weight problems, the list continues.
So how do you keep your nervous system healthy. Chiropractors are trained to analyze the spine and extremities to find and remove these misalignments. Once this misalignment is removed the nervous system can function at its optimal state and allow the rest of the body to function at its best. What does that mean? That means less pain, improved digestive system, respiratory, reproductive system, and all other systems in the body. It is your call you either continue to live life with a subpar nervous system or get chiropractic care and improve your well being and ultimately your life. Below you will find a chart that shows common signs of dysfunction due to the affected nerve supply. Take a look. 1. Get enough sleep. Go to sleep 30 minutes before you usually do. 2. Drink a vegetable, fruit, shake every day. I use spinach, carrots, and a small cup of fruit with water. If you do not like the taste change up the fruit, or add raw honey and lemon. 3. Get chiropractic care regularly. Chiropractors perform a gentle adjustment that allows the body to heal itself through the nervous system. A healthy nervous system equals a healthier you. 4. Create Goals. Each month write down the things you want to accomplish whether that is personal, business, or financial. 5. Lastly walk 20 minutes every day. You do not have to be a gym rat to be healthy. Start a walking routine. |
